Art by Shadi Abdel-Salam, an Egyptian director/set designer/costume designer and one of my artistic inspirations. There’s an amazing exhibit dedicated to him in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
This is his design for the character of Queen Tiye (Akhenaten’s mother) for The Tragedy of the Great House, an epic film about the life of Akhenaten that sadly never came to fruition, as he died before filming began.
